1. Introduction
Hleb Staver, doing business as IcyShine Detailing (“we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard information when you book our services, visit our website at icyshinedetailing.com (the “Site”), or otherwise interact with us.
By using our Site or Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Contact: icyshine.detailing.ca@gmail.com · +1 (925) 263-6615 · 1455 Treat Blvd, Walnut Creek, CA 94597.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Personal information: name, email address, phone number, and service address.
- Vehicle information: make, model, year, and, where provided, license plate.
- Payment information: processed securely by Square. We do not store your full card or bank account details on our own systems.
- SMS consent records: proof of opt-in (timestamp, source, and category — transactional or marketing) for text messages, retained as described in our Terms of Service.
- Membership information: if you enroll in our Plan, your enrollment date, plan tier, and billing history for that Plan.
- Photographs of your vehicle: before/after photos taken for quality assurance and dispute-resolution purposes, which may incidentally include your license plate. Retained as described in Section 7.
- Usage data: IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, and analytics events collected via Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, subject to your cookie consent choices (see our Cookie Policy).
3. How We Use Your Information
- Booking, scheduling, and delivery of detailing services.
- Processing payments through Square.
- Sending transactional SMS messages related to your bookings (see our Terms of Service).
- Sending marketing SMS messages and promotional offers — only with your explicit opt-in.
- Administering our membership Plan, including billing and renewal notices.
- Quality assurance and resolving satisfaction claims, including through before/after photographs.
- Website analytics, fraud prevention, and improving our services.
4. SMS / Text Messaging Program
We operate two categories of SMS messaging, as described in our Terms of Service:
- Transactional: approximately one hour before your scheduled appointment, booking confirmations, and appointment-related updates.
- Marketing/promotional: offers, seasonal discounts, and updates about our services and membership program, sent only between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM Pacific Time.
We are not currently sending SMS text messages. If that changes, consent will be obtained via separate opt-in for each category before any such messages begin, and we will retain records of that consent (timestamp, source, and category) for at least three years. To opt out, reply STOP to any message in that category, or contact us by any reasonable means. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.
5. Third Parties We Share Data With
We share limited personal information with the following service providers, solely to operate our services:
- Square — payment processing and invoicing.
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics) — website analytics, subject to your cookie consent choices.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of advertising cookies and pixels may constitute “sharing” (and, under some interpretations, a “sale”) under the CCPA/CPRA — you may opt out as described in Section 6 and our Cookie Policy. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a sale, merger, or transfer of business assets, subject to this Policy continuing to apply to your information.
6. California Residents’ Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), provides you with the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Right to opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of advertising cookies and pixels (see our Cookie Policy) may constitute “sharing” (and, under some interpretations, a “sale”) under the CPRA.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights.
Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal each time you visit with the signal active. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we automatically treat this as a valid request to opt out of the “sharing” of your personal information for that browser/device. When we detect a GPC signal, the Site indicates that your opt-out preference has been honored.
Do Not Track (DNT). Because there is currently no common industry standard for recognizing DNT browser signals, we do not respond to DNT signals differently from Global Privacy Control. If you enable GPC, we honor it as described above.
To exercise your rights, email us at icyshine.detailing.ca@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, which we may extend once by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary, with notice to you.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, administer your membership Plan, maintain accurate business records, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
- SMS consent records are retained for at least three years, as described in our Terms of Service.
- Automatic renewal consent records (for membership Plans) are retained for at least three years, or one year after your Plan is terminated, whichever is longer.
- Before/after photographs are retained for as long as reasonably needed for quality assurance and dispute resolution, after which they are deleted unless retention is required to resolve an active dispute.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site, remember preferences, measure the effectiveness of our advertising, and improve performance. For details on the categories of cookies we use and how to manage your preferences, see our Cookie Policy.
Non-essential cookies do not load until you provide consent through our cookie banner, or are automatically disabled if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information, including reliance on PCI-compliant third-party processors for payment data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are directed at adults. Where a person under 18 uses the Services with parental or guardian involvement as described in our Terms of Service, the parent or guardian is responsible for, and controls, the related personal information provided to us. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information directly, please contact us at icyshine.detailing.ca@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through a notice on our Site.
